A business in its infancy

Growth is an essential part of life, right? But what if you never stopped growing? Would it not be terrifying to be twelve feet tall? A business must grow into adolescence, then mature.

It is my goal to grow Landau Living into a sustainable business.

  • Sustainable means do my best to minimize environmental impact. This drives material choice and build processes.
  • Sustainable means doing my best to pay my employees a living wage, while supporting their active lifestyles. Time off to ski when there's powder, to kite surf when it's windy, and to take a few weeks off for a trip down the Grand Canyon are what Living is about.
  • Sustainable means the company will not endlessly grow in size. Rather, it will grow in its quality of service, and in its ability to make conscious decisions for the betterment of the planet.
  • Sustainable means sharing knowledge so we can all make better decisions.
  • Sustainable means building the best vans out there, so they last a long time and do not need to be replaced.

Simplicity

Simple is easy!

It is paramount to create a high quality product that lasts. Part of crafting a durable product is simplicity.

Simple is faster to build. It costs less — from the environment to your wallet. It has less parts to fail. And it is easier to repair.

Shuttle Vehicle

My favorite part of having a van is enabling group activities. When you want to squeeze in eight friends and their kayaks, it's good to plan for it.

Sustainability

Give customers a reason to do business with you.

Quality

Abundance

Surrounding ourselves with quality is worth appreciating. It elevates mood, and creates the feeling of abundance. Treat yourself.

Durability

When your stuff lasts for a long time, you don't need to replace it. A van is as far from disposable as we can get, so we make sure that the details are done right.

Sourcing

Sourcing is key: durable, affordable, and sustainable.

This floor was purchased at the Re-Build It Center in Hood River. The biggest way we can be friendly to our planet is to reuse what exists already. This was extra gymnasium flooring in pristine condition. It's soft, water proof, scratch resistant, and extremely affordable.

Shuttling

Want to shuttle eight friends and their kayaks? Or ten sheets of plywood? Plan on it, so you won't have to worry about messing her up!
